Who we are

AIYarn (“we”, “the app”) is a craft companion for crochet, knitting, and sewing — patterns, stash inventory, projects, and an optional handmade shop. The service is operated at aiyarn.vercel.app. Contact: use the support page. See also our Terms of Use.

What we collect

• Account data — email, display name, and a hashed password if you sign up (or session data for demo access when enabled).
• Craft data you create — inventory items, patterns, projects, notes, and photos you upload (including camera captures you choose to send).
• Shop data — product listings, orders, and payment status. Card numbers are processed by Stripe; we do not store full card numbers.
• Technical logs — basic request metadata needed to run and secure the service (e.g. approximate IP for rate limiting). We do not sell personal data.

How we use data

To provide the product you asked for: save your stash and patterns, generate or refine patterns (including optional AI vision when configured), operate the shop and checkout, prevent abuse, and improve reliability. Demo accounts may share sample data intentionally for sales demos when that mode is enabled by the operator.

Photos & camera

Camera and photo library access is used only when you pick or capture an image (pattern from photo, project photos, listing images). Images may be uploaded to object storage (e.g. Vercel Blob) and, if you use AI features, sent to the configured vision provider. You control when to take or upload photos.

Third parties

• Hosting and database providers (e.g. Vercel, PostgreSQL host)
• Stripe for card payments
• Optional AI providers (e.g. SpaceXAI) when vision/generation is enabled
• Optional email delivery (e.g. Resend) for order receipts

Those providers process data under their own terms to deliver the service.

Cookies & sessions

We use an HTTP-only session cookie to keep you signed in. We do not use third-party advertising trackers in the core product.

Retention & deletion

We keep account and craft data while your account is active. You can delete your account in the app under Account → Delete account (password + typing DELETE). That removes stash, patterns, projects, and listings. Completed shop orders may be retained in anonymized form when required for tax or fraud-prevention. You can also email support@aiyarn.app.

Children

AIYarn is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

Mobile apps

iOS and Android builds load the same HTTPS service. Permissions (camera, photo library, network) are requested only for features you use. App Store and Google Play listings link to this policy.

Changes

We may update this policy as the product evolves. Material changes will be reflected by the “Last updated” date on this page.
